Natural Hormone Balancing
Hormones are powerful body messengers that control most of your body processes. They circulate throughout the body and are controlled by the endocrine system. Hormones work as a team, telling your cells what to do and balance is key, so if you aren't feeling great and think it may be your hormones then read on. Hormones circulate freely around the body but they can only bind to their own receptors, they regulate themselves a bit like a heater thermostat and once they have done their job they have to be broken down and excreted by the liver. Most of us are aware of the sex hormones but there are many other that control appetite, weight, energy, sleep, stress, and mood.
Your hormone pattern is not mine
Hormones are produced according to your unique body chemistry. Your hormone pattern is not mine which is why the standard medical approach of one size fits all often fails. Also, hormones are fluctuating throughout your life and from day to day. They are adaptogens and respond to stressors to allow your body to cope, or not, as the case may be.
I work primarily with women in the premenopausal, menopause and postmenopausal years
I work primarily with women in the premenopausal, menopause and postmenopausal years, approx 35-60 years old. My approach is to consider the person as a whole in context, not just a list of symptoms. I am interested in helping you feel great again, something which can easily get lost under the pressures of life, families, partners, work, caring and more. We all deserve to feel our best and sometimes that is hard.
If you would like to stay in tune with your body, make a smooth transition from the fertile years through to postmenopause without symptoms and are confused by what's best for you, then do please get in touch.
I have been working in this field for over 25 years and understand how hormone imbalance can seriously disrupt your health and well being. Let me answer your questions. Weight gain, heavy or variable periods, PCOS, menopausal symptoms, migraines, mood swings, thyroid imbalance, but problems, sleep disruption, stress issues, gut issues, diet, metabolic and blood sugar imbalance, lack of energy, low libido and above all brain fog!!! Yes, all of these relate to hormones and other associated issues.
I begin with a comprehensive health review
I begin with a comprehensive health review which starts with a series of questionnaires to help identify your underlying issues. Following an hours face to face appointment, I may recommend testing if needed. I use the Dutch Test, GI Map. Organic Acids, Complete Thyroid Profile, Heavy Metal and Mineral analysis and Full Blood Profiles but have access to literally hundreds of tests depending on need. We have in-house phlebotomy if needed. My recommendations will cover diet and lifestyle changes, supplementation and possibly the use of Bio-identical Hormones if needed. I am aware of the services that can be accessed from the NHS and will work with your GP if you would like me to.
My practice is based in Robertsbridge, East Sussex which is easily accessible from Hawkhurst, Hurst Green, Cranbrook, Battle, Hastings, St Leonards, Eastbourne, Wadhurst, Goudhurst, Heathfield, Tunbridge Wells. I also work with clients across the UK and Internationally via Skype so don't worry if you can't make it to the clinic.
